Butter Keeper

Service Description

Relax, unwind and get grounded in this hand building workshop in the beautiful Tweed Hinterland. Spend the afternoon completely immersed in clay. You will be taught the simple hand building methods used to create your very own French Butter Keeper. It keeps butter fresh and spreadable at room temperature. The classic two-piece design works by packing softened butter into the top lid. The base is then filled with a small amount of fresh water. When you invert the lid into the base, the water creates an airtight seal that locks out oxygen, preventing the butter from spoiling or going rancid for up to 30 days! All clay, glaze and firings include.
